The China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, is a window, epitome and symbol of China's opening up, and an important platform for international trade cooperation. It has played an important role in promoting China's foreign trade development and promoting Sino-foreign economic and trade exchanges and cooperation, and is known as the first exhibition in China.
The Canton Fair is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China and the People's Government of Guangdong Province, and hosted by the China Foreign Trade Center. Since its inception in 1957, it has been held in Guangzhou, China, every spring and autumn, and has been successfully held for 136 sessions so far. The Canton Fair is a comprehensive international trade event with the longest history, the largest scale, the most complete commodities, the largest number of buyers and the broadest sources, the best trading results and the best reputation in China. A total of overseas buyers from 224 countries and regions participated in the 136th Canton Fair online and offline, of which 253,000 overseas buyers participated offline, breaking the 250,000 mark for the first time, hitting a record high; 450,000 overseas buyers participated online.
The 137th Canton Fair will open on April 15, with an exhibition area of about 1.55 million square meters.
